My current protocol:

  • Dose: 100 mg
  • Frequency: 4 days per week (Mon/Tue/Thu/Fri)
  • Timing: 7:30 am fasted
  • Brand: Modalert
  • Stack: Magnesium glycinate 400 mg evening, 0.5 mg melatonin at bedtime, L-theanine 200 mg with dose
  • Use case: Software development, technical writing

    50 mg Modalert (half a 100 mg pill) / Daily / 7 am / No supplements / Use: elderly parent with shift work sleep disorder, prescribed. Low dose works well for her with minimal side effects. Just adding this perspective as the age/context discussion is often absent.

  9. Great diversity of protocols here. Interesting to see the variety — from 50 mg daily to 200 mg 5x weekly, all finding different optimal points. This variability is why generic “take 200 mg every morning” advice is insufficient.

  10. 200 mg Modalert split dose (100 mg + 100 mg at noon) / 3 days per week / First dose 7 am fasted / Stack: L-theanine 400 mg split across both doses / Use: academic lecturing and grant writing. The split dose works much better for teaching days.
